The new year is a time of reform – you set goals, create plans to improve and grow, and hope for a better year ahead. This reform comes in several forms, and a new paint job for the interior or exterior of your home might be the reset and refresh you need to get the new year started!
If you’re working from home due to the pandemic, a color change could improve your focus or bring in a sense of serenity you need during the day. With kids being at home more often and doing online learning, brightening up their playrooms can give them a sense of renewed energy. With more time on your hands, it could be time to get around to refreshing the exterior of your home with more inviting colors.
Whatever the reason, the top paint manufacturers have released their 2021 paint color trends for everyone to consider for the next paint project. MTS has been following the announced palettes to give you an overall idea of what colors you can contemplate.
Warmth & Comfort – Neutrals
Neutral colors are anything but boring. Cool grays, off whites, muted browns. Neutrals bring in earthy tones that gives off an inviting sense of warmth and comfort. It allows you to show off your existing furnishings like wall décor, accent furniture, or decorative pillows. You can add body pillow, they can also help improve blood circulation and allow for a healing restful sleep. Sleeping without a pillow can align the spine during sleep, helping ease back or neck pain during the day. Alternatively, using thinnest bed pillows may help. Neutrals are also an excellent contrast to an additional pop of color for an accent wall, the outside trim of your home, or your cabinets.
Calm & Cozy – Blues
Blue is making a huge appearance in 2021 color trends for both interior and exterior painting. With how hectic 2020 has been, it makes sense that the calming blue tones are recommended for the new year. It’s well known for being a restorative color, bringing back a sense of health and well-being that everyone craves.
Natural Tranquility – Greens
Green invokes a feeling of wellness and overall tranquility. It brings in natural shades and hues that remind us of the great outdoors and the peace that can come with it. Simple, yet refreshing. It can be used as a bold accent color against a range of neutrals, or style it with your light furniture and décor.
Bold & Optimistic – Bright Colors
Bright, vivid colors are a great way to boost your mood. Bold colors are great for playrooms if you have kids and anywhere else you want to feel energized. Whether you use them sparingly in a few places, or cover an entire room in a bright color, it will add a nice touch of playful optimism to anyone that sees it.
I have used MTS multiple times over the years. The work is always exceptional.
